New cargo village opened at Zia International Airport |

Dhaka--(UNB) – Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain yesterdayformally inaugurated the newly constructed cargo village at the Zia International Airport. The cargo village was set up at a cost of Tk 35 crore on two lakh square feet area which includes 1.5 lakh square feet warehouse floor and office spaces for 17 foreign airliners. Presided over by managing director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Air Commodore Khasrul Alam, the inaugural ceremony was also addressed by Civil Aviation Secretary CM Mohsin and Civil Aviation Authorities chairman Air Commodore Iqbal Hossain. Addressing the function the Minister said the cargo village would help ensure smooth management and safe transport of exportable goods. He directed to make the village self-sufficient with modern equipment. Later, the Minister visited the construction work on the extension of the airport terminal building. |
